The team completed several painting projects in the kids house, spent time clearing the goat pen which included repairing the gate, completed minor repair to the water transfer pump, and built and installed a door for the girl’s bedroom.
The team prepared and presented 3 days of VBS to the villagers. The theme for each day was based on one of Jesus’ miracles in the Bible. These included feeding the 5000, healing the blind man, and calming the sea. The Bible stories were read, a skit preformed, and a puppet show presented. Of course, VBS would not be complete without singing, crafts, and Dum-Dum Lollipops. The team would like to thank Elie for translating the VBS content into Haitian Creole.
The team also had the opportunity to spend time visiting, playing, and holding the children at Pastor Claude Mondesir Orphanage, Pastor Calix Orphanage, and Mother Teresa’s Sisters of Charity Hospital.
The team’s visit would not be complete without spending time and getting to know our new friends, the Bosko Haiti Kids. The kids assisted the team with several of the projects. Team members kicked a soccer ball around, jumped rope, played card games, put together puzzles, and just hung out with the kids.
The team was honored along with the assistance of the Bosko Haiti kids to paint one of their favorite bible verses on the dining / multipurpose walls. The verse SÒM 23:1 (Psalms 23:1) is written in Haiti Creole. Senyè a se gadò mwen mwen pàp janm manke anyen. (The Lord is my shepherd; I shall lack nothing.)
